Introduction

My name is Martin Howard (SID: 1610427). I'm a second year student at Cambridge Anglia Ruskin University and this blog has been created to help me document my work through the "3D Modelling and Animation" module. In this module I have been tasked with creating a scene that is reminiscent of the star ship battles and scenes from the Star Wars movie franchise. This scene has to be a minimum of 30 seconds in length and contain at least 3 models that I have created and textured myself. I also need to show my working towards this scene from conceptualization to storyboarding and finally the finished animation.

This blog is also part of the work that I will be submitting, showing how I have learned to use Maya over the coming months, how my ideas have materialized into functional models and any problems I have had to face and overcome during this module. I also have a series of class exercises that must be completed alongside my own personal animation project. These exercises are designed to help me get to grips with the Maya 3D modelling software and I will be using this blog to communicate my successes and failures during these class exercises over the course of this module.
